Waiting

Things are looking pretty close here. On Friday evening Dad told us that "I think I'm dying now," and since then he's been pretty much nonverbal and in bed. His breathing is very sporadic, but he doesn't seem to be in any pain. The hospice nurse came yesterday and checked Dad's vitals and said that his condition looks imminent. Of course it could still be days, but we're hoping that Dad is able to go quickly and be in peace.

Mom, Danny and I are here with Dad making sure he is comfortable, stroking his head, telling him we love him, telling him everything is done and it's okay to let go, etc.
